Call for Stephen Ministry 2023
Might you be called to be a Stephen Minister? We are experiencing a growing need for Stephen Ministers within the congregation. Most of our current Stephen Ministers are matched with care-receivers. Our Pastoral Care team continues to be aware of individuals who are experiencing life difficulties and would benefit from the high-quality, one-to-one, confidential, Christ-centered care that a Stephen Minister might provide.
We hope to begin Church of the Redeemer's third Stephen Ministry training class in late January 2022, if there is sufficient interest. This 6-month training equips members of our congregation to help “bear one another’s burdens”, and thereby “fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2, NRSV.) Coursework helps enrich your listening, communication, confidentiality, relational and caring skills in ways that may benefit all aspects of your life.
Our experience over the 3 years since we introduced Stephen Ministry at Church of the Redeemer is that our Stephen Ministers are deeply connected to one another and find deep spiritual meaning in their caregiving relationships. If you think you may be interested in the training and serving in this ministry, please contact Rev. Joyce Keeshin, Becca Morehous or Mark Kroeger by January 7th.
