Children-in-Worship Space
For the past year Church of the Redeemer has been exploring spaces in our nave/sanctuary for children to use during our worship services. We want to give our children a place where they can clearly see and hear what is happening during worship, while still having a comfortable area for movement. You may remember that we have provided a rug in several spots (in the middle or the pews and in front of the pews) during our Family Feast Days.
On Sunday, February 16 at our 9:00 am combined worship, we will try one more possible space by using the side chapel to the right of the chancel/altar area. This area will have our recognizable rug and quiet activities provided, as well as, seating for parents to join their children. The Playroom/nursery can be conveniently accessed from the door next to the side chapel.
While we are still assessing the options, we have found that children and their families have welcomed this accommodation and all of us have felt the energy they generate when they gather together closer to the altar for worship.
