Community Champions Volunteer Opportunity
Church of the Redeemer:
Community Champion for
John P. Parker Elementary School
Our continued partnership with Cincinnati Public Schools (CPS) to distribute supplies to students weekly at the John P. Parker Elementary School in Madisonville needs some more volunteers.
Before you sign up, please consider the following prerequisites by asking yourself the following questions:
- Am I healthy and well?
- Am I "low risk" (under the age of 65 and free of pre-existing medical conditions - such as asthma, diabetes, and heart disease)?
If you answered yes to both of these questions, please sign-up using the link below and lend a helping hand.
All volunteers are required to check their temperatures before arriving on the school campus. If you temperature is 100.4 or higher, you will be asked to contact your captain and stay home.
Additionally, all volunteers are required to wear a mask (paper or cloth) and gloves while at the school. If you do not have these supplies at home, we will provide them for you.
Shifts are one hour from 11:00 ma - 12:00 pm. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
If you have any questions, please contact Church of the Redeemer's Associate for Mission & Liturgy, the Rev. Melanie Slane.
Visit our Community Champion page for more information on the program.
On Monday, April 6, Anna Calhoun and our Associate for Mission & Liturgy, the Rev. Melanie W. J. Slane distributed supplies at John P. Parker Elementary School in Madisonville to a record crowd. On average the Church of the Redeemer distribution team has be serving 70 students, but on Monday there were 300 students. The increase was due to the added distribution of academic kits to those students unable to receive this enriching information electronically. With a line of cars out of the parking lot, the scene attracted the media and Fox19 News captured our crew at work. Watch the coverage by clicking on the image below.
