Congratulations Thomas Heidenreich
Church of the Redeemer’s organist, Thomas Heidenreich, is moving to Wisconsin! Thomas has been our organist while he completed a Doctor of Musical Arts in organ performance at University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music (CCM). He has completed all the course requirements and passed all the exams and is now finishing his final written Document. He intends to officially graduate in December this year.
Thus, he has accepted positions at Nashotah House Theological Seminary and at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul the Apostle in the Episcopal Diocese of Fond du Lac. His last Sunday at Church of the Redeemer will be August 15, where he will play at both worship services.
At Nashotah House Thomas will serve as the Organist in Residence. There, he will play for eight weekly chapel services. As worship is at the heart of communal life at the seminary and a large piece of the formation for students, he is grateful for the opportunity to lead in this worship through his playing.
He has also accepted a position as Canon Musician at the Cathedral Church of St. Paul the Apostle, the Mother Church of the Diocese, in Fond du Lac. At the Cathedral, as the director of music and organist, Thomas will work with and direct the choir and play organ for the Sunday service.
Thomas shared, “I have appreciated my time at Church of the Redeemer these past three years and the opportunity to get to know the choir and congregation. Music is at the heart of what we do in worship, and my hope is that Church of the Redeemer will always treasure and support this.”
Please join us in congratulating Thomas and be sure to join us on his last Sunday, August 15 at our 9:00 am or 11:00 am worship services. Thomas will be available after worship and hopes to have the opportunity to say thank you and goodbye to many of you in person.
