Energy Efficiency Upgrade Grant
Did you know, the Church of the Redeemer has been awarded a grant for an Energy Efficiency upgrade from the Energy Efficiency Grant Program of the Diocese of Southern Ohio?
"The Creation Care and Environmental Justice Commission along with the Trustees of the Church Foundation have reviewed your grant request to install LED lighting throughout the church. We are pleased to announce that you have been awarded a grant in the amount of $10,000 for your project, funded by the Trustees of the William Cooper Procter Memorial Fund."
We have contracted with Energy Harness to do the LED switchover. They will be doing all the Preschool rooms and the office wing hallway. These are two areas that showed high usage on our energy audit. Energy Harness estimates we will reduce our energy use and carbon footprint from lighting by 62%, as well as, reduce our utility bill! Reducing our energy use is important work towards living more sustainably with our neighbors and ecosystem. The project is estimated to be $10,709.39 and is slated to be done by the end of the summer.
This grant was possible because of the work that was put in by John Calhoun, Beth Weinewuth, and Kris Woolf as part of the Creation Care Team.
