IHN "Trauma Informed Care" Training
Please note this event has been postponed for sometime after the holidays. We will let you know when it is rescheduled. Thank you for your patience.
On Saturday, November 2 from 9:00 - 10:30 am in the Great Hall, Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) staff will explain the concept of trauma informed care. Becoming “trauma-informed” means recognizing that people often have many different types of trauma in their lives. People who have been traumatized need support and understanding from those around them. Often, trauma survivors can be re-traumatized by well-meaning caregivers and community service providers.
IHN volunteers have found this training to be very helpful not only in serving families experiencing homelessness, but also in their everyday lives. Anyone who is interested in this training may attend, however, it is recommended for those age 16 and older.
