Interfaith Conversation and Cuisine
Thursday, July 18, 2024, 6:00 PM
Thursday, July 18, 6:00-8:00 PM
This event will gather practitioners of several religious communities here in Cincinnati, including: The Episcopal Church of the Redeemer (Christian), The Islamic Center of Greater Cincinnati (Muslim), The Isaac M. Wise Temple (Jewish), Guru Nanak Society of Greater Cincinnati (Sikh), Ohio Buddhist Vihara (Sri Lankan Buddhists), The Zoroastrian Association of KY, OH, & IN (Zoroastrian), Hindu Temple of Greater Cincinnati (Hindu), and The Bahá'í Faith-Cincinnati (Bahá'í).
A leader from each community will briefly share a significant role that food plays in the life of their own communities. Participants will then be invited to share stories at their table of how they have been nourished by the Divine as they gather in community around food.
The meal will take place in the Great Hall at Church of the Redeemer and will be catered by Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian cuisine. Non-alcoholic beverages will be provided by Church of the Redeemer, and we ask everyone to bring a potluck offering of dessert as we gather in the sweetness of shared life.
Participants who would like to further their dialogue and connection with the broader Interfaith Community are invited to participate in the Cincinnati Festival of Faiths, held this year on Sunday, August 25th from 12-4pm at the Cintas Center on Xavier University’s campus.
Registration for this event is REQUIRED so we can be sure to accommodate everyone. And Church of the Redeemer participants are encouraged to participate in a brief preparation presentation on Sunday, July 14 at 10:00 AM in the Parlor. Please use the button below to register you and your family now.
