May is Mental Health Month
Mental Health Awareness Month has been observed in May in the United States since 1949 to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and to stop the stigma associated with mental health disorders. Church of the Redeemer’s Health and Wellness Ministry reminds us that everyone faces challenges in life that can impact their mental health. So, we encourage you to visit our Healthy Church page for Mental Health resources for you and your family.
Tips to Cope With Stress During COVID-19
- PAUSE. Breathe. Notice how you feel.
- TAKE BREAKS from COVID-19 content.
- MAKE TIME to sleep and exercise.
- REACH OUT and stay connected.
- SEEK HELP if overwhelmed or unsafe.
We also recommend that you check out Church of the Redeemer’s The Way of Love at Home series through the Rector’s weekly blog, When Love Shows Up and our Interrupting Grace podcast. Both offer insight into how the 7 practices of this Rule of Life are especially applicable during this difficult time.
Remember that there continues to be opportunities through our Dementia Inclusive Cincinnati initiative with webinars and support groups to assist caregivers.
