New Partnership with 55 North
Church of the Redeemer is excited to announce a new partnership with 55 North (formerly known as Hyde Park Center for Older Adults). Founded in 1974 to provide outreach and assistance to neighborhood seniors, this agency saw a bold rebranding and move in 2020. In an effort to be more inclusive and welcoming to all older adults and to bring programs in the neighborhoods served, they moved out of their dedicated building and out into those neighborhoods. Anyone 55 & older can receive supportive services from the case manager and participate in wellness and learning activities. 55 North’s transportation services and home-delivered meals are available to seniors living in East End, Hyde Park, Madisonville, Mount Lookout, Oakley, O’Bryonville, and South Norwood.
55 North will begin using our building to gather for regular and special events during the week. In addition to an Open House today, Thursday, November 17, the group will host an Ugly Sweater Holiday Social on Tuesday, December 6 at 11:30 am. To learn more about the organization and their events, visit their website.
We are excited to expand use of our building to include 55 North in addition to the 12-step programs and the Clark Montessori students who gather at Church of the Redeemer. Our hope is that the updates to our lower level will create a welcoming space for our Family Ministry and our greater community. Look for more information on that work soon and until it is completed, we thank you again for your patience as we squeeze together in our space.
