Our US Electoral Process
Second Half Speaker Event
"Our US Electoral Process"
featuring Gordon Christenson
Sunday, January 10

Is the way we choose our President in a democratic Republic working as the Founders intended?
As part of their Second Sunday Speaker Series, Church of the Redeemer's Second Half Ministry is pleased to welcome Redeemerite Gordon Christenson to their January Speaker Event. Gordon will present and invite us to participate in a fascinating discussion on the US electoral process within our democratic Republic. Our electoral process has had extensive news coverage in recent months, some informative, and much mis-informed. Many people seem to have great distrust in the system. Gordon will provide historic and legal perspective on the workings of our electoral process as mandated by the US Constitution. We will tackle such issues as:
- What is the electoral process, what has just happened, and where are we now?
- Does the current process as amended protect the integrity of all legitimate votes?
- Why is the current process so distrusted?
- Is the Electoral College process obsolete? If so, what next?
Gordon is uniquely positioned to address these questions. Gordon has taught constitutional and international law at six major law schools and at the US Naval War College and is now Dean Emeritus and University Professor Emeritus of the University of Cincinnati College of Law. He is a devoted member of Church of the Redeemer and currently serves as a lector and is an active member of the Thursday Morning Bible Study.
