Second Half Speaker Series
Gathering Wisdom, Sharing Wisdom
Who were your wisdom teachers? Your grandparent? A sage aunt? Your neighbor? Your coworker? Who taught you some of your life’s most valuable lessons? And who teaches you today? On Sunday, October 20 at 6:00 pm, as part of our Second Half Speaker series, we’ll talk about wisdom and those we have to thank for it as we journey through our lives. And on the flip side, we’ll look at how we might share our own wisdom. All are welcome to join us, please bring finger food and beverages to share.
We will meet in the Great Hall for reflection and lively discussion about the wisdom we’ve gathered, and the wisdom we share. Guest speaker Liz Tassone will offer perspectives and invite us to reflect and share our experiences. Liz is a spiritual director and retreat leader here in Cincinnati. She trained at the Sycamore Spirituality Center, which teaches an interfaith and contemplative form of spiritual direction.
Ms. Tassone received her Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and gerontology from Miami University, and has worked with older adults for more than four decades. In addition, she also produced and hosted the Family Caregiver Hour, on WMKV, for eight years.
She teaches mindfulness and self-compassion at Mercy Neighborhood Ministries and is currently in a two-year training program to become a certified Mindfulness meditation Teacher.
