Tornado Damage in Dayton: How You Can Help
Following the tornadoes that touched down in Dayton and the surrounding area on Monday, May 27, many have asked how we can help those who have been affected. As this area is part of the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Ohio, we look to our Bishop and diocese for guidance.
St. Margaret's, Trotwood, has been actively engaged in relief response, serving as the epicenter of Trotwood tornado recovery operations. This small congregation has distributed thousands of meals, bottles of water, articles of clothing, and other supplies to the victims. They could use our help! In addition to financial assistance (see below for how to donate cash), they are looking for donations of non-perishable food, hand sanitizer, round face masks, wipes, industrial gloves, trash bags, cleaning supplies, diapers, and feminine hygiene products. (They have plenty of bottled water and clothing. Donations of these items are no longer being accepted.)
Donations can be dropped off at St. Margaret's, 5301 Free Pike, Trotwood, OH.
Donations of cash are still being accepted. Click here to donate online. Click here for more detailed information from the diocese. Bishop Breidenthal has also written to us with words of prayer and encouragement. Click here to read his full letter. Let us continue to keep all those affected in our prayers.
