Upcoming Changes to Online Worship
A Message from our Minister for Worship and Incorporation
July 23, 2020
I'm Anny Stevens-Gleason, Minister for Worship and Incorporation here at Church of the Redeemer, and I want to share an update on where we are on Livestreaming our Sunday morning worship service. After a review of the Regathering Survey results, consultation with both our CARE Team and Online Worship team, we have have a framework for this new phase of online worship beginning on August 16th. Worship will look very similar to how it does today, yes, location will change, but we will continue with the Liturgy of the Word.
For now, as we are in Phase 1b, only worship participants will be in the Sanctuary. We will follow all physical distancing requirements, all participants will be wearing masks, and we will be taking extra measures during transitions to keep proper distance. As far as music is concerned, our Director of Music Brett Scott will be speaking to you in the coming weeks about what music will look and sound like in this Phase. One item of particular note, our worship livestream will begin at 9:00 am. As with our current offering, once the livestream worship has ended, the video will be available to watch at any time during the rest of the day and into the week. This time change has been made so that we can continue to livestream this service even after we have returned to gathering in the church without restrictions. I am excited about what lies ahead and even more excited about our growing engagement united as a worshiping community that knows Jesus and grows in love.
