More about Gregory Miller:
Although his career is young, Cincinnati-based conductor, vocalist, and educator Gregory Miller has already established himself as a versatile and accomplished musician.
As a conductor, Miller serves as the Director of the University of Cincinnati Men’s Chorus. His appointment began at the conclusion of the 2020-2021 academic year, and he is responsible for planning repertoire, collaborating with the student board of directors as well as other campus organizations, and creating valuable artistic and social experiences for the students in the Men’s Chorus and UC Choruses as a whole.
Previously, Miller served as the Richard W. Wesp Assistant Director of the Cincinnati Youth Choir, the same ensemble he participated in as a child. In this position, Miller was the assistant conductor for the advanced middle school choir, Con Brio, and the flagship touring ensemble of CYC, Bel Canto. Gregory has helped prepare students for festival performances at Carnegie Hall, and performances of Boito’s Mefistofole and Bernstein’s Mass with the Cincinnati May Festival. Miller has also served as an instructor for CYC’s after-school choral program, ChoralQuest.
Miller also enjoys a varied performance career as a vocalist. He spent 2 seasons in the Cincinnati Opera chorus, performing in productions of La Bohème, The Magic Flute, Another Brick in the Wall, and The Flying Dutchman. As a soloist, Miller has performed the tenor solos in Handel’s Messiah as well as Mozart’s Coronation Mass. He is also active in Cincinnati’s professional choral scene, performing with Collegium Cincinnati and Coro Volante, Cincinnati’s recording ensemble.
Miller holds bachelor’s degrees in Voice Performance and Music Education from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) and is currently pursuing his master’s degree in Choral Conducting at CCM. He has studied conducting with Dr. Joe Miller, Dr. L. Brett Scott, Robyn Lana, Robert Porco, and Dr. Anthony Trecek-King and has studied voice with Dan Weeks and Mary Stucky.
