Join CoR After School on Thursdays for a program dedicated to learning about wellness through various practices including yoga, nonviolent communication, and herbalism, along with learning how to utilize natural resources for everyday uses! This program will be run by Liz Virgo, a certified Yoga Instructor, student of Nonviolent Communication, and enthusiast of herbalism and nutrition.
Nonviolent Communication is a practice that allows people to understand their own feelings within a conflict, while being able to increase empathy for others they may be experiencing conflict with. These skills not only help folks navigate conflict more healthily but drastically influence the way we communicate daily with those around us, whether we are in conflict or not. Some weeks, Liz will lead students in a one-hour program, taking time to discuss different aspects of nonviolent communication while also incorporating gentle, beginner-level yoga, to center the mind and body on the skills being taught. On other weeks, Liz will bring different herbs for students to learn their uses and wellness properties, and even learn ways they can be incorporated into one's daily diet.
The program will be offered every Thursday that school is in session, from 3:15pm-4:15pm. For more information or to let us know you plan to participate in this weekly offering, contact Tym House.
