Celtic Guild
Redeemer has been offering a "Eucharist in the Celtic tradition" since November of 2005; this is a contemporary liturgy based on the theology of the ancient Celts enlivened with traditional music and focusing on themes of nature that change throughout the liturgical year. These themes are in keeping with the Celtic theological emphasis on creation and God's presence in all aspects of creation. The Celtic service is offered each Sunday evening at 5:00 pm in the Chapel of the Holy Cross. This venue has narrow but clear windows (with full windows at the upper levels), which provide views of the sunset or the changing leaves or the snow that enhance the worship experience. Our Celtic Guild uses greens or other natural items and lots of candles to set the atmosphere for the service. Members serve approximately once a month to prepare the chapel for this service. This group is led by Lynne Lingrel.
Celtic Design Team
This group meets approximately 3 times per year to evaluate, design and plan the liturgy at the 5:00 pm Sunday service. They also help to implement any changes they recommend, working with the Celtic Guild and Altar Guild. Time commitment is about 6 hours per year.
