Lay Readers
What we at Redeemer call Lay Readers are actually Lay Eucharistic Ministers licensed by the Diocese of Southern Ohio. Trained in both liturgy and the interpretation of Scripture, these parishioners serve at Sunday services by reading a lesson and by administering the chalice (of wine) at communion. Lay Readers, unlike Lectors, are robed. Lay Readers are usually scheduled once or sometimes twice each month.
