CoR Youth (Grades 7-12)
From September through May, Church of the Redeemer (CoR) Youth has two weekly opportunities for students to gather together! Youth are invited every Sunday at 10am for a time of fellowship, service, and community building. Whether you are coming to 9am or 11am worship, stay after or come early to join us! This time will serve several purposes for the youth at Redeemer:
- Putting spiritual practices into action by serving in a ministry during that time, such as music ministry, children's ministry, or hospitality ministry.
- Building relationships, sharing stories, and studying scripture with other students and adults from Redeemer during Education hour (10am).
- Welcoming others who may be new to Redeemer, especially new students who may be anxious about being in a new space.
We also have Thursday Nights which runs from 5pm-7pm. This offering will feel like your traditional youth group gathering including dinner, games, prayer, and faith-based discussions utilizing the outline of Compline in the Book of Common Prayer.
We are committed to fulfilling the vision of Church of the Redeemer by building unity among high school students through authentic community while growing together with youth and the larger church in the ways of love, acceptance, and support. Being reminded and inspired about what makes us proud to be Christians, we will be sent to share that inspiration in the everyday spaces around us.
To walk this vision together, our desire is to create a safe and laid-back space for open dialogue with one another. We have a commitment to zero judgment in those conversations, and grace for when we fall short. We remember to laugh together as often as possible and to follow the call to love our neighbor as we love ourselves.
CoR Youth also meets for various activities like mission trips, social outings, and camp. Events as such will be posted in the events section below.
All of our happenings in CoR Youth meet the fulfillments of our ongoing confirmation class, as well, which is built to be flexible and support students as they venture on the lifelong journey of building their beliefs in the Church of the Redeemer community and beyond.
Lastly, do not hesitate to contact Church of the Redeemer's Minister for Family Discipleship, Tym House, with any questions.
