Station 7: Jesus falls for the second time
Find Station #7: Benches under large tree on front porch
Prayer
Reader: We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you.
All: Because by your holy cross, you have redeemed the world.
Reading
Even without the cross, Jesus can hardly walk. He is much weaker and falls to the ground again. I want to help him, but I can’t get past the soldiers like the woman did. I want to help Jesus! I want this awful thing to stop.
Activity on the Church Grounds
For families: Look for the window into the sanctuary. I wonder how Jesus felt after falling for the second time. How do you feel when you are hurting? Have a moment here to rest your body. We can connect to God when we pause. Practice this meditation and sit in silence after you read it:
Jesus, help us when we feel like giving up. Help us to remember it is okay to fall and need to rest. Thank you for being there to help us up and give us the strength to keep trying. Amen.
While you rest, you can listen to this playlist of organ music, recorded inside the sanctuary.
For adults: Almighty and ever-living God, in your tender love for the human race you sent your Son our Savior Jesus Christ to take upon him our nature, and to suffer death upon the cross, giving us the example of his great humility: Mercifully grant that we may walk in the way of his suffering, and also share in his resurrection; who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.
Activity at Home
For all: Read Jesus falls for the second time from Earnest Illustrations by Josh Bowran.
