Station 9: Jesus falls for the third time
Find Station #9: Paxton side hills near chapel
Prayer
Reader: We adore you, O Christ, and we bless you.
All: Because by your holy cross, you have redeemed the world.
Reading
We’ve been walking uphill for a while, and Jesus falls again here. He looks so very tired. The soldiers pull him off the ground and Jesus struggles to get up again. I have to look away. I don’t want to see any more.
Activity on the Church Grounds
For families: Take turns going up and down the hill in the grass or on the sidewalk. See who in your family can go the most times before they get tired. Here is a small stone wall – it looks like it might be unfinished. Remember a time when you had to finish a tough task.
For adults: Teach your Church, O Lord, to mourn the sins of which it is guilty, and to repent and forsake them; that, by your pardoning grace, the results of our iniquities may not be visited upon our children and our children’s children; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Activity at Home
For all: Read Jesus falls a third time from Earnest Illustrations by Earnest Graham.
