Service, Justice, & Community

Being Love in the World

At Church of the Redeemer, we understand mission as more than outreach or charity—it is the way we live God’s love beyond our walls. Every ministry participates in this call, but our Ministry of Service, Justice, & Community holds the specific role of guiding how we show up in the world with compassion, humility, and purpose.

We are re-centering our outward-facing work around a clear and faithful focus:
supporting systemically excluded youth, ages 13–18, who face barriers to housing, belonging, safety, and opportunity due to identity, income, or life circumstances.

This focus helps us build deep, lasting relationships with organizations aligned in that work, while still remaining open to other meaningful service opportunities in our city. Not all efforts will align with this focus—and that’s okay. Some opportunities may be coordinated by other ministries or remain lay-led. Every act of service matters. Focus gives us depth, not limits.
To support this renewed clarity, our long-standing Mission Board and Mission Funding Committee have been renamed the Service, Justice, & Community Board and the Service Justice, & Community Funding Committee. These groups—already faithfully serving Redeemer—now work more collaboratively to:
– Discern strategic partnerships
– Manage and distribute funding to aligned initiatives
– Create channels for story-sharing, accountability, and impact

We are also committed to:
Being present in our neighborhood, not just active behind the scenes.
Building mutual relationships, not transactional ones.
Sharing stories of impact, invitation, and hope.

There are many ways to join us in this work. Whether through volunteering, giving, relationship-building, or learning—there is a place for you in this story of love being lived out loud.
