Fueling Service, Justice, & Community for Youth through Strategic Giving

The Service, Justice & Community (SJC) Funding Committee at Redeemer stewards financial support for local organizations and initiatives that advance equity, dignity, and transformation—especially for youth ages 13 to 18. Our commitment is to invest in partnerships that uplift young people and create pathways for justice, healing, and opportunity in their lives.

What We Do

  • Review grant applications from community partners and internal ministry teams.
  • Discern alignment between proposed initiatives and Redeemer’s mission, with a particular focus on youth-centered justice work.
  • Cultivate relationships with funded organizations, ensuring mutual accountability and shared learning.
  • Support the SJC Board in identifying strategic priorities for Redeemer’s outreach giving.

We prioritize funding that:

  • Centers youth voices, leadership, and community.
  • Builds long-term capacity for justice work with teens.
  • Meets the needs of youth (and their families) that may be affected by systemic barriers.
  • Engages Redeemer members in meaningful partnership and service.

Annual Grant Cycle

The SJC Funding Committee accepts grant applications once per year:

  • Application Period: Early December through late January
  • Review Period: February
  • Grant Awards Announced: March

Organizations or ministry teams seeking funding are invited to submit a proposal during the open cycle. We welcome applications that are collaborative, community-rooted, and justice-oriented.

Our Partners

The Funding Committee supports a wide range of organizations across Greater Cincinnati, especially those focused on:

  • Youth empowerment and education
  • Housing and homelessness
  • Food insecurity
  • Immigration justice
  • Recovery and reentry
  • Environmental sustainability

We are also committed to elevating belonging for marginalized youth—including those impacted by race, sexuality, gender identity, and other markers of difference. We seek to fund initiatives that affirm the dignity of every young person and create spaces where they are seen, valued, and supported in order to be set up for success and thriving adult lives.

Many of these partnerships are also reflected in our Service Opportunities, where Redeemer members can engage hands-on with the work we fund.
