Guided Rotunda Tour at Union Terminal (aka Cincinnati Museum Center (CMC)).
Church of the Redeemer’s own Jackie Heintz is a CMC docent and will lead a free private tour for 15 people from 10:00AM – 11:45AM. The tour is inside Union Terminal; a National Historic Landmark built as a 1933 train station. We’ll hear about the architecture, construction and art of one of the finest examples of the Art Deco style. We’ll see the rotunda with its world-famous mosaic murals, catwalk (need to climb a flight of stairs), dining room, Rookwood Tea Room and behind-the-scenes areas such as the president’s office and board room. We’ll go up to Tower A (need to climb 1-2 flights of stairs) to see where they originally controlled the trains.
Gather in the front lobby by the Tours sign by 9:45AM for our 10:00AM tour. The only cost will be $6.00 for parking if you are not a CMC member.
If your registration attempt says the tour is full, email Dawn Neely to be added to a waiting list in case of cancellations.
An optional lunch will follow at nearby Northside Yacht Club at 4231 Spring Grove Ave 45223 (https://northsideyachtclub.com).
