Loving Formation
For God’s sake, we will grow our love for the Earth and all of life through preaching, teaching, storytelling, and prayer.
We invite you to join our Creation Care Team at Church of the Redeemer. Moving Forward, “A Guide to Climate Action For Your Congregation and Community,” has gathered an ecumenical board of churches, amongst them The Episcopal Church, who have made a pledge to lead a movement to heal the world and to protect future generations, and Church of the Redeemer will heed that call.
Liberating Advocacy
For God’s sake, standing alongside marginalized, vulnerable peoples, we will advocate and act to repair Creation and seek the liberation and flourishing of all people.
Our Creation Care Team will work to educate our church and the surrounding community on the effects of climate change and actively participate and engage in ways to prevent and reverse those effects through community clean-ups, recycling, reducing waste, and advocacy.
Life-Giving Conservation
For God’s sake, we will adopt practical ways of reducing our climate impact and living more humbly and gently on Earth as individuals, households, congregations, institutions, and dioceses.
Lack of affordable housing is a serious issue in our region, and across the nation, that contributes to systemic poverty and homelessness. ” According to the Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Census Bureau, nearly 50,000 households in Cincinnati are cost-burdened, meaning they have to pay more than a third of their income on rent or mortgage, plus utilities.” To become more informed about this issue, the Becoming Beloved Steering Committee recommends checking out learning opportunities being offered by the Greater Cincinnati Homeless Coalition, a leading local advocate for affordable housing. The events include educational zoom sessions, walking tours, and opportunities to hear from people experiencing homelessness and/or struggling to find affordable housing.
