We are excited to share that Church of the Redeemer has committed $25,000 to help make our inaugural Walking in Love: A Borderland Pilgrimage more accessible to our parish community.
From the very beginning, we have believed that this pilgrimage is an opportunity to live more deeply into our call to be sent into the world, rooted and grounded in love, to serve all people with humility, compassion, and faithfulness. We also believe that a transformative experience like this should not be limited by financial barriers.
Thanks to this commitment from Church of the Redeemer, the cost of the pilgrimage has been reduced by nearly half—from $2,038 to $1,024 per pilgrim. This subsidized cost includes accommodations, transportation, and most meals throughout the pilgrimage.
In addition, all youth ages 13 and older who participate with a parent or responsible adult will receive a full scholarship, making their pilgrimage experience completely covered by Church of the Redeemer.
This investment reflects more than financial support—it reflects Church of the Redeemer’s commitment to spiritual formation, Becoming Beloved Community, and learning what it means to enter into authentic relationships marked by humility, listening, and mutuality.
Our pilgrimage will take place October 24–30, 2026, in partnership with Rio Grande Borderland Ministries in the El Paso–Juárez borderland. Together, we will encounter communities, ministries, and organizations that invite us to reflect on faith, hospitality, justice, and accompaniment in ways that will enrich not only this journey but also our ministry together at Church of the Redeemer.
Participation is limited to 24 pilgrims, and we encourage anyone who has been considering this opportunity to prayerfully explore whether God may be calling them to join us.
