All Souls/All Saints Evensong

Join us on Sunday, November 2 at 5:00 pm in the Sanctuary for our All Souls/All Saints Evensong.

The combined parish choirs of Church of the Redeemer and St. Thomas Episcopal Church present a special evensong in honor of the Feasts of All Souls and All Saints. The featured work will be Camille Saint-Saens’ Requiem in a chamber orchestra version featuring soloists, choir, organ, harp and strings.

Choral Evensong is a service of Evening Prayer in the Anglican tradition where most or all of the service is sung by the choir or congregation. It is a longstanding tradition and often uses the form of Evening Prayer from the 1662 Book of Common Prayer, still in use in the Church of England. The service includes hymns, canticles, and psalms, creating a rich and reflective musical experience. This sung form of Evening Prayer is a beautiful expression of worship and is cherished in many Episcopal and Anglican communities. (Source: Book of Common Prayer)
