Addresses food insecurity in
our greater community. Many and varied volunteer opportunities are available at
the new location 3401 Rosenthal Way.
Individuals, families, or groups may:
• Prepare “Power Packs” for food insecure students in two-hour shifts.
• Sort nonperishable food for distribution to local food pantries, soup kitchens, and shelters.
Freestore Foodbank holds special events such as Holiday Operations, the Rubber Duck Regatta, Hunger Walk and Hogs vs. Hunger for one-time and occasional helpers. Annual Hunger Walk and 5K run each May needs volunteer participants and organizers.
On a regular weekly or monthly schedule, individuals with the requisite skills may volunteer as clerical and administrative assistants, receptionists, clothing store assistants, Healthy Harvest Mobile Market assistants, Cincinnati Cooks assistants or Nutrition Program presenters.
