Church of the Redeemer in Hyde Park presented a $200,000 commitment to Found House on Sunday, August 9, reaffirming the church’s long-standing commitment to housing stability for children and families throughout Greater Cincinnati.
Found House Executive Director Stacey Burge joined the congregation for Redeemer’s 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. worship services, where the commitment was presented. Between services, Burge spoke with parishioners during a special 10:00 a.m. coffee hour about Found House’s work, the evolving needs of families experiencing homelessness, and what the longstanding partnership between Found House and Church of the Redeemer has helped make possible.
Formerly known as Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN), Found House has evolved from a model centered largely on temporary, congregation-based shelter to a broader approach focused on helping families achieve and maintain long-term housing stability. Its work now includes supportive housing, housing retention, prevention and diversion services, and wraparound support for families.
That evolution closely reflects Church of the Redeemer’s own growing understanding of housing ministry: while the methods for addressing homelessness have changed, the church’s commitment to housing has not.
The work also connects directly to Church of the Redeemer’s focus on children and families. In 2025, Found House served 544 children through its shelter and housing programs, as well as 30 households led by pregnant or parenting young adults.
The $200,000 comes from proceeds from the sale of the former Eastminster property that housed the Madisonville Education and Assistance Center (MEAC), another of Redeemer’s long-standing community partnerships. The commitment will support Found House’s capital campaign and help strengthen its work at a time of uncertainty surrounding federal housing funding.
For Church of the Redeemer, the commitment represents more than financial support. It marks another chapter in a long-term partnership and a shared commitment to helping Greater Cincinnati families experience the dignity, security, and opportunity that begin with a safe and stable place to call home.
