We Support Affordable Housing in Cincinnati

Dear Church of the Redeemer Community,

Rooted in God’s love and our call to love our neighbors, we believe everyone deserves a safe, stable home they can afford. This commitment is part of our work toward Becoming Beloved Community, where every person’s dignity is honored and all can flourish.

As housing costs rise, many of our neighbors face difficult choices and greater uncertainty. Through our partnership with the Greater Cincinnati Homeless Coalition and its Towards Housing Justice education program, we are learning how housing policy affects people’s lives and how we can help create lasting change.

We at Church of the Redeemer support the affordable housing policy platform developed by Cincinnati Action for Housing Now (CAHN). The platform grew from two years of research and community engagement led by CAHN, Communities United For Action, and Undivided, with input from more than 20 organizations and 100 people. Its priorities include reducing corporate concentration in housing, supporting alternative housing models, protecting tenant rights, pursuing rent stabilization, sustaining the Affordable Housing Trust Fund, and advancing inclusionary zoning and protections against displacement.

We also endorse thise coalition’s letter calling on the City of Cincinnati to implement these policies

The letter will be publicly announced and submitted to Cincinnati City Council on Wednesday, October 21, 2026.

We invite you to learn more and participate in these upcoming opportunities:

Sign-making party — Wednesday, October 14, 3–7 p.m.
Come and go at the Greater Cincinnati Homeless Coalition, 117 E. 12th Street.

Housing NOW! National Day of Action Rally — Wednesday, October 21
Gather at Piatt Park at 11:30 a.m.; march to Cincinnati City Hall around 12:30 p.m. The rally concludes between 1 and 1:30 p.m.

Together, we can put our faith into action by listening to our neighbors and supporting policies that strengthen housing stability throughout our city.

In faith and hope,
The Church of the Redeemer
