"We know that there is a need in the aftermath of trauma to assert our blessedness, there is a need in the midst of our pain and suffering to proclaim that we are not forgotten by God, right? Well, we have not gotten over the trauma of slavery and the racism that was baked into the founding of this country we love so much. It's still with us. It still haunts us. We are not free of it - not yet. It’s not just something some people need to get over. It’s something we need to address with honesty and love."

The Voice of the Prophet
"There's something really wonderful about saying, 'Oh yeah, God is love isn't that nice.' Without acknowledging that that means that if God is love and God has called me into life, into living, into being in this world that I am made for love. And then I’m meant to live in this world as if that's true. Well, that might require me to look at myself differently"

Summer Throwback: Real Unity

Summer Throwback: Real Unity
Note: As part of our When Love Shows Up Summer Throwback Series we are re-posting this podcast which was originally posted on January 27, 2021.
"The Christian striving for unity is, in fact, not a striving for something abstract, strange, and unusual: it is a striving to live into what is already true, to live into reality. The Christian life is a life learning how to accept our mutual belonging. We are not trying to create a future unity, but to recognize and accept our current unity – we are already members of the same body. Now we have to act like it."

Along the way of Love
| The Rev. Gary Lubin![The Rev. Gary Lubin](https://www.redeemer-cincy.org/uploads/images/dsc08258-edit-edit_242_small.jpg)
Along the way of Love
"Then along the way of Love, we hear in today’s Gospel
reading, Jesus sends out the 12 disciples to heal and teach like he had been
doing. Then later on, Jesus sends out 70 more disciples to do exactly the same
thing. So the Jesus love movement grew then and continues to grow even now because
Jesus’ followers say and do something in the name of love and for the sake of
love, even if it’s just a little thing. Just being grateful and faithful followers
of Jesus persuade us to speak on God’s behalf to becoming a beloved community."

Standing in Awe of Pride
| The Rev. Philip DeVaul![The Rev. Philip DeVaul](https://www.redeemer-cincy.org/uploads/images/philip-devaul_215_small.jpg)
Standing in Awe of Pride
"Pride, in this context, is a stunning, glorious refusal to believe the lies the world tells about you. Pride is the claiming of your belonging in this world as you are, not as I tell you you should be. This Pride, this celebration of who God made you to be, is a rejection of shame, and an embracing of joy; a rejection of hatred and an embracing of love. This Pride is an act of grace. It’s a Christian virtue."

Unimagined Miracles

Unimagined Miracles
“This is our very human dilemma, as people of faith. Like Jairus, we desperately want our loved ones to be healed. Like the woman, we want ourselves to be healed. We pray faithfully, and yet if we focus on what we think that healing looks like, we may miss the healing that is happening in our midst, the healing that already is.”
